Beginner Improv

Duration: 1-2 hours

Attendance: min 6 / max 30

In short: So you think improv is just thinking fast and saying some funny things, eh?  Well then basketball, by definition, is just throwing a ball into a hoop.  This workshop teaches the foundational and universal skills necessary for performing improv comedy with a focus on: creative thinking, blocking, wimping and free association (if you don't know what these terms mean or how they are used, you need this workshop).

Intermediate Improv

Duration: 1-2 hours

Attendance: min 6 / max 30

In short: Scene work is the basic building block of a successful PS improv scene.  And as ancient Chinese wisdom tells us, if you can't build a scene you have nothing (maybe that's a Middle East proverb). Over the course of this workshop, students will work through The Panic Squad 4 C's of scene building which include: context, character, conflict and conclusion.

Advanced Improv

Duration: 1-2 hours

Attendance: min 6 / max 30

In short: Put your skillz where your mouth is - let's see if you've got game!  During this workshop, students will work out their newly acquired skills and play a variety of improv games from the major improv game categories.  Positive critique from the PS boys helps to shape improv concepts into playable skills.
